As the 22nd -26th June is Fairwild week, I thought I would explain more about more about Fairwild and how Neal’s Yard Remedies work with Fairwild ingredients.

The fairwild foundation was established in 2008 to create a sustainable future for our wild plants and protection for those who collect and trade in them.

We wouldn’t have the medicines, cosmetics, health products, furniture, food and drink we enjoy, without wild plant ingredients.

Neal’s Yard Remedies pioneered Fairwild sustainably harvested wild ingredients. One of the ingredients is rosehip.

The rosehip we use, grows wild on the hillsides of rural south eastern Serbia.
Around 100 local villagers handpick the rosehip from the fields which are a crimson carpet of rosehip. It’s an invaluable income for these people.

The collectors always leave 10% of the fruit on the bushes as the seeds are cold pressed in distilleries to preserve their anti oxidant properties and go on to make the rosehip oil we use in our wild rose range.
